february was here and now its gone…

I know I always say how fast time flies but really….I cannot even fathom how tomorrow is March 1st, that doesn’t even sound like it could be real.  We have been keeping busy over here in our parts but not with anything too exciting, or anything that I even want to be busy with lol…we are almost done with our oldests sons room (I will try to find some pictures soon…before and afters are what I live for ;-))

Getting ready for taxes is our other thing that is keeping us super busy, oh oh oh and our water heater decided to completely go out on us, so we already had the new thankless water heater mounted on the wall but it was not piped in yet…so now with waiting on contractors to give me quotes then deciding they didn’t want to take on the job, to waiting on parts to arrive (and a box missing two major parts) we are still waiting – we are going on 3 weeks and 2 days now without hot water.  We are very blessed though since I am still working at the gym in the daycare they are kind enough to let me shower there and the boys have swimming lessons and use the showers there!  It has become the new norm.

I have signed up to receive stitch fix boxes every month and it is one of my new favorite things ever…(with 2 boys shopping for myself is difficult) .you receive 5 items every month and you only pay for what you keep, and in a special prepaid package you send back what doesn’t work for you.  Your personal stylist picks items out just for you.   I feel like she knows my style better than I do ;-)! I will try to start taking pictures of all the items, and what I decide to keep.  They have all been amazing so far- I will recievre box #3 around the 10th of March!

Great offer ….

Once again I was behind getting pictures printed…I always upload them to the computer but then that is where they sit.  My husband is always asking me to get them printed.  So today when I saw the link from Shutterfly for 101 prints free just pay for shipping and handling I had to jump on it.

A little DIY Halloween Decor

I love all the ideas for Halloween home decor floating around the web.  Our home at the current state is really not that decor friendly though. We have a HUGE wood stove in the middle of our family room, and a wall in between our kitchen and our family room (for another month or so) so I have to pick and choose wisely what I make, I love how they turned out!! They add just the pop of color we needed, and don’t take up too much space. wpid-wp-1413378395541.jpg

How do you use your time wisely?

Now with both boys in school Tuesday through Thursday I need to start thinking about my time management.  I make lists (then mis-place them) I use apps on my phone (then forget which ones I used) so I have been trying really hard to figure out what is going to work just for me.  I know that not everything works for everybody.  So it is going to be just trial and error.  I would love to know what does (and doesn’t) work for you!  Leave me a comment.

it’s official…

we have finished getting new windows and siding!!  It has been a long road coming but we are sooo happy with the end results.

house before and after

Before we had the installers put in the windows and siding we had to paint the garage door (oops which is not in the picture) and all the gutters and eaves, also the trim around the front door.

I am hoping to add more photos soon.

Friday Pinterest Favorites!

This week we have been doing a lot to prepare our home for new siding and windows… WOOP WOOP

so I will show you my favorites

I love this porch light – I want it a little “less shiny” though.  A little more of a rustic feel.

I do LOVE LOVE this but it may be a little too large of scale!  but I love the lines and feel.

I am almost positive this is the light we are going to go with. Find it here.

Now lets move on to the garage door…remember we are trying to stay on a budget 🙂

while staying on a budget this is BEAUTIFUL!!…find the link here and I believe a tutorial.

I know this isn’t very exciting or pretty but it is very practical and keep all the unwanted leaves and dirt out.

House numbers … there are SOO many choices.

I love how simple these numbers are….and so beautiful.  (I bet pretty reasonably priced too) find it here.

I love this too…a little more ornate-but still very beautiful. Find it here.

Do you have a perfect complexion? Dr Bradley Kurgis can help you get the skin you dream of…

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Overnight Reputation for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I know I have struggled my whole life with acne, scars, and I have not always been the smartest with exposure to the sun. I love having a nice tan – even though I know it is very damaging to my skin. When I was in high school I enjoyed using tanning beds, but then when I got married and then eventually got pregnant I knew I could not use tanning beds anymore.  Kurgis Dermatology can assist you with whichever skin condition you have-either acne, ance-scars, sun spots, signs of aging from sun exposure, all the way to ezcema whcih is what my poor 3 year old son suffers from.

In my area I have not had the best of luck with dermatologist's, there are only two and they prescribed me with a topical cream and a pill to take daily. Which that seemed to work for a little while, but then like always it just stopped working.

I then started using oatmeal soap as a cleanser to dry out my pores.  Then I always use a moisturizer to give me the moisture I need without getting too much oil. I do have combination skin…it tends to get very oily throughout the day, and very dry after each washing. So I have to be extremely careful with which products I choose to use.

Very berry green smoothie recipe

Our Favorite Smoothie Recipe

We have always loved smoothies for breakfast — both the littlest and I are not lovers of breakfast {at breakfast time} so we love to try new smoothies.  So far this by far is our most favorite.

Very Berry Green Smoothie

1 Banana Frozen in to chunks*

1/2 cup mixed berries {or any berry of your choice}

1/4 cup greek yogurt {we love honey flavor}

2 TBSP dry oatmeal

1/2 cup apple juice {or milk, orange juice, pineapple juice}

1 big handful of baby spinach

Add all ingredients to blender and blend till smooth. If it won’t blend up easily you can always add a little bit more liquid.

*Note- I always freeze my bananas into about 3 chunks per banana onto a foil lined baking sheet, then when they are completely frozen I put them all into a gallon sized ziploc bag.

I never really liked the icy chunks when you have to add ice to a smoothie so I always try to use everything frozen.
